The song that lasts 100 years. Without replay, without loops, just once.

What you see on this site is a digital deconstruction of Édith Piaf - "La vie en rose" composition - a song that last 3 minutes, slowed as much as is necessary to run once within 100 years.

In fact, this work is the deconstruction of the myth that inhabit the minds of the majority since the first years of life, the myth of a happy life, delicately deployed from a film roll that lasts at least 100 years. This is why I choose the two references of this work, the number 100 as a standard measure of a waiting time horizon in order to embrace a fulfilling life and the song "La vie en rose" whose stereotypically title provide some kind of a universal and compulsory panacea of getting happiness, suggested by the pink color.
In this work, my only real thing (yet uncertain) that happens between the two mentioned above (the 100 number and the pink), it is that it will hopefully operate for 100 years. And this is only because it’s an inorganic entity, entity of whom existence is generated only through technology and it will perish along with technology. Otherwise, pink is present only in the form of sliders and buttons on the screen, but the metaphorical pink, the one that is related with the essence of happiness in the collective mentality, it’s only an imagined pink and absent altogether. The failure of listening the entire play and the sound generated continously by the 100 years extended version of a 3 minutes play, will probably wake up the self-awareness of our pettiness, or sometimes will emphasize a self inquiry state regarding our own existence.
Eventually, for a few, there is some hope to be contemporaries withe the 100 years song, along the entire 100 years. It requires that they were already born very recently or at the latest the 03/10/2017 12:00:00. This was the time the 100yearssong work, starts counting 100 years.
For most of us, even for our children or grandchildren, the final version of the song in "time-stretching" version will remain just an unverifiable assumption.
A chimera.
Just like the song title.
" La vie en rose " remains just a pompous name, a papier-mâché after which lie down an extremely monotonous spreadsheet, a sequence of trivial frequencies, unrelated to what we call music, frequencies changed periodicaly at every (approximately) six minutes for 100 years period of time.
A cioranian "decomposition treaty" of an almost perfect play.
The ideal situation would be to find the right amount of time that perfectly fit the so called streched-minutes, so that those three minutes lined in a lifetime, become a harmonious melody with a happy-ending final.
But that's an ideal situation, therefore a nonexistent assumption. Which means that we’ll have to content ourselves with our insignificant minutes, one or two or three, each of them lasting several decades without any musicality and harmony, without meaning and without much hope.

Cântecul care durează 100 de ani. Fără reluare, fără bucle sau loop-ing, doar o dată.

Ceea ce vedeți pe acest site este deconstrucția în format digital a compoziției lui Édith Piaf – "La vie en rose" – o melodie a cărei durată este de 3 minute, încetinită atâta cât este necesar să ruleze o singură dată într-un interval de 100 de ani.

De fapt, este deconstrucția mitului care populează mintea majorității din primii ani de viață, mitul unei vieți fericite desfășurate cu delicațe de pe rola unui film care durează măcar 100 de ani. Acesta este motivul pentru care s-au îmbinat cele două referințe ale lucrării, alegerea cifrei 100 ca etalon al unui orizont de așteptare temporal pentru o viață împlinită și piesa "La vie en rose" care prin titlul stereotipic, oferă panaceul universal și obligatoriu al fericirii sugerat de un oarecare pigment roz.
În lucrarea mea singurul lucru real (și totuși incert) care se întâmplă dintre cele doua amintite, este că va funcționa timp de 100 de ani. Și asta pentru că este o entitate anorganică, existentă doar prin intermediul tehnologiei și care se va sfârși odată cu tehnologia. În rest, rozul este prezent doar sub forma unor cursoare și butoane pe ecran, dar rozul metaforic, cel care în mentalul colectiv dă esența fericirii, este doar un roz imaginat și absent cu desăvârșire. Imposibilitatea ascultării întregii melodii și rezultatul sonor generat de varianta extinsă la 100 de ani a celor 3 minute de muzică, probabil că vor trezi pe alocuri conștientizarea propriei micimi, iar altora le va accentua starea de autointerogare a propriei existențe.
Până la urmă, pentru câțiva, puțini, există o oarecare speranță să fie contemporani permanenți ai celor 100 de ani, asta cu condiția să se fi născut nu foarte demult sau cel târziu în 10.03.2017 ora 12:00:00, ziua și ora la care începe numărătoarea celor 100 de ani.
Pentru majoritatea dintre noi, chiar și pentru copiii sau nepoții noștri, finalul melodiei în varianta time-streching va rămâne însă doar o posibilitate neverificabilă.
O închipuire.
Exact ca titlul cântecului.
"Viața în roz" rămâne doar un nume pompos, o butaforie în urma căreia se întinde un desfășurător extrem de monoton, o înșiruire de frecvențe banale, fără nicio legătură cu ceea ce numim muzică, frecvențe modificate o dată la fiecare (aproximativ) 6 minute timp de 100 de ani.
Un "tratat de descompunere" cioranian a unei compoziții muzicale aproape desăvârșite.
Situația ideală ar fi să găsim măsura corectă a minutului, în așa fel încât cele trei minute înșiruite într-o viață de om, să devină o melodie armonioasă, cu sens și cu un final împlinit.
Dar asta-i o situație ideală, o ipoteză inexistentă. Ceea ce înseamnă că va trebui să ne mulțumim cu minutele noastre insignifiante și plate, unul sau două sau trei, întinse pe câteva zeci de ani, fără muzicalitate sau armonie, fără sens și fără prea multe speranțe.
